Apr. 10th, 2014 09:21 pmYou can't blame me for thinking that the actor who played Styr, the Magnar of Thenn, in the season premiere of Game of Thrones--

--might have been the same actor who played the Necromonger who left Riddick on the planet "not Furya":

But no, the former was Joseph Gatt and the latter was Andreas Apergis. But hey, guess who else Gatt played?

ETA: Wait a sec, it is not clear from the internet whether Styr was Joseph Gatt or Yuriy Kolokolnikov. It sure looks more like Yuriy on the IMDB page. ??
.
I slept way too little last night, but made it through the whole workday and then to gym class and then to a book reading with Annalee Newitz from io9.
It was great. I was only planning to sit and listen and pick up a copy of her new-in-paperback book (partly about how humans might survive various extinction-level events) for my coworker, but it turned out to be so engaging that I asked a question during the discussion period (!) and got a second copy for myself. If the book is anywhere near as fun, articulate, and responsibly/thoroughly reported as her Q&A was, it will be a delight to read. And, uh, I thanked her for linking to Starships! on io9 last year, because the fact that it happened still makes me :D :D.
.
And now, another chapter of Clash of Kings followed by zzzzz.
