bironic: Neil Perry gazing out a window at night (RSL neil window)
Did manage to push past some blocks on those Festivids.

I really like how [one of them] is coming along. I managed to [redacted] and that feels good. No time to rest on laurels, though; it's still only [redacted] long, and will only get [redacted]. Plus there's [redacted] to be done.

However, [different one] is not doing so well. It's more [redacted] than planned. At this point, I'm just putting one clip in front of another so when there's a critical mass I can look at the draft, and/or ask a beta to look at it, and decide whether it can be rescued or would be better off getting scrapped.

(Coworker: How much effort have you put into it already?
Me: Trying not to think about that.)

When I switch between them, I'm all, How is one so good and one so terrible? It's as if they're by different people.

(Possibly the one is not that great and the other not so terrible. But that's how it feels this week.)

In the meantime: nor'easter number four of the season, still no snow. Gym class this evening. And the other half of The Cutting Edge: The Magic of Movie Editing to watch. Enjoyable so far. Particularly the parts where editors talk about the rhythms and physicality of placing cuts. Other parts recall Vividcon panels, like hollywoodgrrl's lesson on Kuleshov and Eisenstein.
