I'm going to keep telling myself that House knew what it was, and the writers expected that the viewers would eventually know what it was, and so we were supposed to watch it going, "It's AMBER, House," and then realize that he's blocking himself from remembering because, as Wilson said in the MRI room earlier, House does care about her -- whether that's because he likes her or because he cares about Wilson and Wilson cares about her --, and it hurts to remember that she was critically injured. *nods*
