My favorite alter ego names when I was growing up were Linmire (pronounced using Elvish rules of pronunciation, which makes it a three-syllable name) and various Russian names (Natasha, Katyusha, etc.). I got a kick out of the fact that when I took Russian in college, we all used Russian versions of our names. There was no Russian equivalent for my first name, however, so I was dubbed Alexandra Ivanovna by the professor. I grew quite fond of that name. *g*

Edited because I really do know what sex I am. :P
