Hee! I love it that you indulge in stuff that is fun to write, like Mary Sues. The purpose of reading (and writing) is to enjoy it, right? Sometimes people feel too much pressure to Write Very Important and Critically Acclaimed Things, and the result is sort of stiff. When you write what you like to write, it make the end product way more fun to read. (I think.)
