Ah, interesting. I remember a lot of people squeeing about it a while back, but I guess I never paid attention to the substance of their reviews, nor noticed the negative responses. I had also avoided it for a while, probably because when "fandom" LOOOOOVES a thing, I feel like I'm being set up for disappointment? Hm, yeah, tricky. And it's probably not easy to let go of meaningful books from childhood! I know I haven't been able to do it; there's a box of them in the closet. The close ties of physical books and personal identity... or, heh, perhaps I'm projecting that.
