Schroedinger's Cat at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger's_cat). Basically, cat's in a box, you can't know if it's alive or dead unless you open the box, but then you interfere with the experiment and alter the outcome, so you still wouldn't know. So long as the cat remains in the enclosed box, it could be alive or dead or neither alive nor dead. A paradox! That's the cat Wilson referred to, although (as daasgrrl pointed out below) he kind of got the details wrong ("a dead cat can't be in two places at once").
At least the cutthroat pixie has a discernible personality and agenda, which makes her less generic.
I'm trying to decide if I'd take bland over "hate to hate" (as opp. "love to hate"). Will give her another week and see. It's always possible that House will take what Wilson said to heart and end up firing the people he really despises (e.g. her) and take on board people who can actually offer helpful, complementary perspectives.
