Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
My f-list is great;
I love all of you.

ETA: Yes, yes, fine, I appreciate you more than that dinky poem suggests. Here is a tritina, coerced inspired by [livejournal.com profile] purridot. Pure sap, but nevertheless true (and in pentameter!):

On LJ we can squee and share our love,
bonding with strangers who become our friends
to celebrate the things that bring us joy.

In fandom and beyond, through grief and joy
alike, we've come to laugh, support and love
each other -- although far apart -- as friends.

I don't know where I'd be without you, friends.
With luck, this Valentine conveys the joy
it is to have you in my life, to love.

My love to you, dear friends, who bring me joy.

I mean it. I don't always do a good job at keeping up with everyone, but you're in my thoughts, and you make my life better with your conversation and your art and your passion and your wit and your ... everything. You really do. ♥

I wish I were getting an MRI of my chest instead of my abdomen today, because then I could show you my heart and do little dotted lines showing which pieces you've stolen. :D

I hope those of you celebrating today have a wonderful time, and that those of you who hate the holiday with an unholy passion don't have too horrible a day. For the rest, happy Thursday!

If you really loved us, you'd write a sestina about your f-list. *hugs you anyways*

Have fun doing research for Housefic at the hospital today! Because I want you to be perfectly fine and healthy and not to have to go back there for any other reason but a fandom one. *hugs again, very gently this time*

Fine, fine. I love you better than a two-second, four-line poem suggests. :D Here is a tritina -- three end-words instead of six, in pentameter. Pure but sincere sap.

Also, thank you. *hugs back* I hope this will provide a definitive, benign diagnosis and I can go right back to planning smutty MRI stories to share with everyone. :D

*luffs you back*

*wishes good luck at the hospital*

*sends Ronon along to make sure you're entertained by his hotness*

Hee, Ronon in an MRI room. Would he fit in the scanner, d'you think? His feet would stick off one end of the table, I'd bet. And his knives, with the magnet! Oh, the adventures.

Poetry? For me? You shouldn't have!

*simpers*

Love you too! How did we live before...each other? *sniff*

*tosses hair romantically in the wind*

I'm celebrating the fact that it's the last school day before a week's break!

Woo, vacation! Seems like everyone has next week off but us. Alas. You shall have to write fic to make it up to me. :D

And there is a better poem now! More romantic hair-tossing on the windy moors is in order, methinks.

[identity profile] blackmare.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
What?!! What MRI? What did I miss?!?

Obviously, you're not the only one who doesn't do the best job of keeping up with everyone.

I hope that all is well. And as for Valentine's Day, I keep forgetting. I'm not dating anyone anyhow. But your friends list loves you too. :-)

And we love you back. :)

It is nothing much with the scan today -- they found some inconclusive stuff when they scanned me for a kidney stone last year, and this is just follow-up to see if they can make out whatever it is better.

[identity profile] pwcorgigirl.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Love you, too, hon. And I'm sending Wilson bear along to watch over you and make sure no one fires any pistols in the MRI room. :)

Aw, thank you. Snuggly Wilson bear.

Alas, for it means I can't have crispy Care Bears chocolates (or anything else) until at least 3:30 today.

I left my box on the kitchen table (if you don't have a box of your own) that you are welcome to share.

And I hope you enjoy(ed?) the email I sent. :-P

♥ ♥ ♥ Go flist love, go!

(And, I don't know, I liked the brevity of the first one~.)

May you vanquish the mighty MRI machine. :3

Alas! I'll never get those sixty minutes back, you know. :P

\0/ *glad the evil MRI didn't turn you into a coughing/bloody/seizuring mess ala House s1 patients*

Alas! I'll never get those sixty minutes back, you know. :P

(Sixty minutes?!) I, I was never one for poetry? ;__; And your efforts were appreciated by others! *points*

*hugs back!*

I am reeeeeally slow. :D And I am glad you liked the first one at least.

Nope, no MRI of doom! Just a lot of clicking and bleeping and humming and buzzing and directed breathing. Seizure- and bleed-free. Hee. Actually I find it quite relaxing. Nothing to do but lie there and breathe.

[identity profile] topaz-eyes.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Poem FTW! \o/

BUNNIES IN TEACUPS!

Hee. It seemed to necessitate all caps. Glad you liked the poem. *big Valentine's hug*

[identity profile] deelaundry.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwww, I was impressed by the first poem. (Especially since my declaration of love for f-list was rather... um... Sheppard-esque in its brevity.)

Did the MRI go well? Easily? I don't know the word to use here. Whichever way, I'm keeping you in my thoughts for the best possible outcome. : )

[identity profile] bironic.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I won't know the results for another couple of days, but the test itself was fine. Great, actually. Very relaxing. Other than the whole catheter-in-arm thing, which is annoying. *points to sticky bandage*

And, hee. I liked your post. And the picture. Mm.

[identity profile] no-detective.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you incredibly talented woman, you.

Until further notice, I shall consider your hospital visit a spot of research for your Housefic-writing purposes. *makes with the hugging*

Yes yes. Since I went to a different place, I got a different torso coil today, so now I can write from experience whether I choose the cloth or the plastic for Wilson later. :D

*hugs you back* Happy Valentine's Day, my darling! It has been a glorious year getting to know you.

DON'T MAKE ME LOOK UP MORE POETRY FORMS. DOESN'T THE WORLD HAVE ENOUGH? XD

Happy V-day from the future ;)

ext_2047: (Default)

[identity profile] bironic.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh. What's it like in the future? Do we have hovercars tomorrow?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK IT UP, IT'S JUST A SESTINA WITH LIKE A THIRD OF THE WORK. :D

[identity profile] daasgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, I kind of figured, but I wanted to see whether it was real AND NOT JUST SOMETHING YOU MADE UP. Because I wouldn't put it past you ;)

Hmm, I don't see any right now, but it's a little overcast here...

[identity profile] bironic.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Like the UNTINA, a one-line poem using all the words at once?

[identity profile] daasgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
But surely that would be dull.

Incredibly dull.

[Although not what you said *g*]
ext_2047: (Default)

[identity profile] bironic.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yes. Or maybe an untina is like an anti-sestina -- combine them and they EXPLODE.

[identity profile] daasgrrl.livejournal.com 2008-02-15 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Fragments of verse all over the place - aiyeee! And indeed, literature as we know it shall end.

:)

Gah, where were we talking about Richard Chamberlain? I can't find the thread(s). But remember when I said we mercilessly teased my mom about it when she found out he was gay and therefore never going to go out with her? Well anyway, look what my sister gave her (http://bironic.livejournal.com/118468.html?thread=1846212#t1846212) for Valentine's Day yesterday. *g*
