House T minus 3, "Living the Dream."
Three things about House:
1. Frenzied Wilson make-out-age. Let me repeat (and relive): FRENZIED WILSON MAKE-OUT-AGE. And CUDDLING. And PARTIALLY UNBUTTONED SHIRT. Yessssss.
1b. I was worried when Wilson seemed to be pulling away from Amber because his initial attraction to her aggressiveness was turning into feeling like a doormat, because he deserves a decent girlfriend for a change, not a three-week gig because network television abhors sustained relationships. Then I feared again when he seemed trapped by Amber's pout after the mattress test: if he kept what he chose, she'd be upset because he was treating her like his (ex-)wives; if he switched to what he originally wanted, she'd be upset because he was still giving in to her wishes. The waterbed solved that neatly. And after that last scene with their reactions to that disastrous purchase, I don't think people can complain that she's using or manipulating him without any love in the equation. I'm very happy with the way things turned out between them; she knows as well as Cuddy that Wilson isn't good at taking care of himself, and she wants him to learn how, to be his own person with her. She could've been more supportive right after saying that (and could've said so earlier) instead of getting out of bed, but at least it drove home the point. For once, we got to see instead of hear about how Wilson is trying to change.
2. Oh, the meta, it burns. House plays a stalker/fan and saves the day through obsessive study of his favorite TV show. Cuddy calls him on his fixation on an "actor or the character he plays." He holds up an Emmy in front of a mirror. House mentions the fact that TV shows don't ever reflect the world as it is. It's finally vasculitis. Etc. A little smile, but mostly a wince.
3. Um, was there a third thing? Thirteen going on the offensive and saying she dated the nurse on the soap? FRANTIC WILSON MAKE-OUT? Kutner asking if he can use the time to actually run the test? Sparking House/Foreman face-off with what looked like genuine hurt? Cameron flat-out telling House she didn't miss him? (Ouch!) The increasing frequency of subtext about House being bisexual? "I'm ignoring you because you make me sad"? ... Other stuff that's already drained from my sieve of a head?
Also, Dee strikes again: House and Wilson in a room with a bunch of mattresses? See also Second Petition.
I dunno. I liked parts of it, but overall the medicine seemed more bizarre than usual and I felt little to no emotional connection to anything that was going on, including the inspector's threat and the "suspenseful" ddx montage. I found myself asking again why we are getting episodes like this when the writers had several extra months to plan what they wanted to do with the rest of the short season. And please, please, can we stop rehashing the same themes and words over and over unless we're going somewhere new with them? Please? *sees next week's preview* Guess not. Sigh.
On the bright side: WILSON KISSES AND CUDDLES and small mid-life crisis.

You *know* I'm a die-hard House/Wilson shipper but... Amber and Wilson are so darned cute my heart melts.
And yes, may Dee inspire many more episodes! (But NOT the sad stories. The one with the puma costume would be okay, however.)

Yes! This is why OTP exclusivity doesn't work for me (in general). There are so many fun and delicious and absolutely screwed-up pairings to be paired (and threesomes to be threed, etc.), all set up to various extents on-screen, it's impossible to limit yourself to just one. And by yourself I mean myself, but hey. :)

I didn't even think about Second Petition, I was so busy thinking about Free Time! Waterbed=Dancing+Corn Dog+Zima, YES! House is an ass but not as much as he could be, YES! Amber is supportive, YES!
For all House's "Cam's too flat to sexually excite Soap Dude" talk, when she was having him sign all those files, I thought, "Damn, Cam's boobs are impressive." And I don't even think she's that pretty.

And now nothing I've ever thought will come up in any future House episodes. : )

If that makes any sense?

I had something else I was going to say, but forgot it. Hmph.

They definitely directed our attention to Cam's chest when she leaned forward and her neckline gaped. Which reminds me: under the meta list, add "remark about how two of the lead women have small breasts."
Y'know, I was a fan of the fact that Wilson's kiss didn't involve tongue everywhere. *shudder* Though, maybe next week, the way things are going? (Er, don't tell me if I'm wrong. Or for that matter if I'm right. Yes. You know.)
Did you like at the end, how his eyebrows were mussed?
LOL, were they? I loved how mussed he looked, but I didn't notice that so much as the rest of the hair -- do you mean the lying-on-the-floor post-waterbed scene or the coitus interruptus scene, with the unbuttoned shirt (mmm)? Will have to watch again. Oh, the sacrifice.
Sorry, babbly today.

Hmm, I seem to have put my other comments in my reply to Dee, which you get to read anyway ;)
