Postcards lost, apartment found

[livejournal.com profile] elynittria, [livejournal.com profile] nightdog_barks, [livejournal.com profile] synn and [livejournal.com profile] musicisbelievng -- I'm really sorry, but it looks like your postcards are MIA. Yours are the ones I sent from Poland almost six weeks ago, and as far as I know, none of them have been received. I don't know if the woman in the gift shop told me the wrong postage, if the hotel clerk forgot to mail them, if they're lost in the international postage system, or what, but it's very disappointing.

.

Just back from a couple days' trip to check out my apartment, introduce the campus to my mother, and meet a friend-visiting-from-abroad for dinner. Am pleased with all of the above. Now back home and figuring out what I need to acquire to stock and furnish the place. (There were postcards in the campus store; that's what reminded me about the Poland ones. Grr.) Also making my way back through all of your posts. Chatty bunch, aren't you?

*smiles*

Aw, no worries about a stray postcard -- you tried, and these things happen.

Chatty bunch, aren't you?

Hee!

:)

Well, it makes me sad. Because people didn't get postcards, because whatever I wrote on them (I seriously do not remember most of what I wrote to people on this trip) is lost, because of the time and money (very little, but still) that went towards nothing. Insert sad face here, &c.

Someone who was hoarding all the postcards must have seen my post and finally done their job! LOL. My sister got hers yesterday, so I had a feeling the rest would arrive too, after all. I'm really glad yours came.

Yes, we are. I actually - prepare yourself, now, are you sitting down? - posted *actual fiction*. There are *three separate pieces*.

In fairness, one of them was written in 2006 and then forgotten about. But, still. I feel this is a historic event.

...Oh crap, I never actually left feedback on your WIP, did I? *makes note*

Oh, worry not! It is my life's destiny, I feel, to be late for/totally forget/lose absolutely everything. Thus, in a spirit of mercy, I encourage you to poke at me when I've forgotten/lost/am late for anything.

Really. It will alleviate my suffering.

So. You are forgiven. In fact, I'll probably have forgotten by the time you read this.

ETA: I've just remembered what little niggly thing prompted me to write this huge post. I forgot your birthday! Oh the shame. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I am poor, but I could conceivably write fic for you. Or, you know, just post and tell the whole world how special you are.

I kind of figured it got lost in the mail. Oh, well, c'est la vie.

:( Yours had something about how the trip wasn't designed to introduce us to Polish culture or cuisine, too, and how we'll have to look up that Polish restaurant you mentioned once.
