We could totally do that.

[livejournal.com profile] tigertrapped, [livejournal.com profile] nightdog_barks, and everyone who likes writing short fiction -- have you heard about this? NPR is starting a feature/contest for stories that can be read aloud in three minutes or less. As anyone who's read drabbles or microfiction knows, this is not as startling a challenge as the host expressed last evening on the air when he said, hey, who would have thought that you could tell a whole story in just a few hundred words? Still, it could be fun to see if anyone here makes it onto the show.

ETA: Reading the rules I've discovered that the contest is only open to people in the U.S. -- sorry about that to the Brits et al. Tiger, you would have taken it by storm.

That looks interesting! Thanks for posting, because Mr. N's the only one who listens to NPR. *g*

Heh. I've been listening to it on my commute since it's DC-based and all, and the trip is usually too short to get into a book on CD. Even a short story on CD.

Heh, we could totally do that. Hopefully some guys will! Most interesting...

Quite! I was disappointed to find that the contest isn't open to people outside the U.S., though, and that instead of having weekly readings, they're only announcing one winner in July.
