When I was 12 or 13 I had a poster of Dr. Bashir sticky-tacked to the wall by the foot of my bed, in Starfleet uniform, arms folded, gaze peaceful, sporting a Mona Lisa half-smile. One morning I woke up feverish. Half-asleep, I stared at the poster. His eyes spiralled with red as he stared back at me. When I glanced away it looked like he’d moved. Before the next night I took the poster down and stuck it in the closet.

Scary memory...

When I was between 7 and 10 I had a wallpaper in my room with some cute donkey-like creatures crawling around on these "nets" - like ropes crossed with each other. When I got very tired it would seem to me that they came out of the wall and went somehow more "real".
Later I found out that this was because I unfocused like when you want to look at one of those 3D-images that consists of repeated patterns. Apparently my "donkeys" were repeated in a way that lend themselves to this.

Ooh, was it creepy or was it fun?

Mostly fun, it felt a bit like magic or something. Or like I was special :-) The donkey-things felt safe too and I was afraid of the dark, so that was a good thing.
But it was also fun to discover how it could have happened when I got older.
