Happy Canada Day! And happy almost-Fourth of July. In celebration of Canadians in space, and holidays in general, here is a silly vid about why it's great to be a Wraith.

Title: Every Day is Halloween in the Pegasus Galaxy
Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Genre: Humor
Length: 2:35
Music: "Halloween" by Stephen Lynch
Summary: Come into my hive ship, little boys and girls...
Beta: A thousand thanks to [livejournal.com profile] yevgenie and [livejournal.com profile] usomitai. Any remaining rough spots are probably because I didn't listen to their advice.
A/N: Once upon a time I envisioned a Wraith-POV vid set to this song. Lo, it has come to pass.

(Also, I don't think you need to know much about SGA to watch this.)

Lyrics:

Thinking of all the cool creatures that I will meet on this night
Ghosts and goblins and witches roaming the streets in moonlight
Bowls of candy and goodies, delicious and waiting in store
The sound of cute little footsteps as they approach my front door

Letting the children inside to drink beers
Razor blades hidden in Three Musketeers
Screams from the basement of kids begging to be set free
That's what Halloween means to me

Tightening the clamps that are holding their little heads so tight
Putting my lips to their ears as I whisper, "Please - don't fight"
I promise I'll let you go home if you swear not to tell a soul
Well I'll just untie these - I'm kidding
Now where is my chainsaw, let's rock and roll

A pinch of your brother, a teaspoon of you
With the head of your sister would make a good stew
I'd give you a taste but your tongue's in the stew - irony
That's what Halloween means to me

Trick or treat, smell my feet
Give me something good to eat
Trick or treat, smell my feet
Give me someone good to eat

…Wow, those clouds look ominous. How fitting to have a thunderstorm right now.

.

Concrit is always welcome.

That was utterly fabulous! My favorite parts are John's swivel around 1:15 and the whole sequence after that, with the humans caught in the Wraith prisons, and then the ending - just awesome. YAY! Good job!

Thanks! This was a ton of fun to plan and to make, and I am happy to hear that you enjoyed watching it. Thanks for sharing your favorite parts, too -- I love hearing that kind of thing, and it may help when thinking about future vids as well.

Little did I know when I bought that song a few years ago that it would end up inspiring a project like this....

Thanks!

Wonderful! For some reason, the thought of Sheppard's team having "little feet" cracked me up the most.

Ha, hello! And thanks. It's a wonderfully twisted song. Did you ever see some of the House vids set to his songs, such as Superhero (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnLpgHLZ8ZU) or If I Were Gay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvypDDtbE6w)? Classic.

And yes, with a little tweaking (after the mental health break), I found a way around that weird title problem. Hopefully it'll continue working properly and be worth the license fee. (Though I've still got your email saved, just in case.)

OMG BIRONIC THIS IS THE BEST VID EVAR. I *love* that it's from the Wraith's POV, I LOVE the way you match up the lyrics and the clips, I *adore* the Wraith queen's little squint as the song goes, "IRONY"--somehow the whoops and laughter from the live audience just make it so much better, you know? EEEEEEE.

I am going to go rec this now. YAYAYAY.

Awww, and here I was thinking it was going to be Ministry's "Every day is halloween" when [profile] isiscolo linked to it. Regardless, this is a cool vid -- love the wraith-centricity of it, such a rare thing to see.

HOLY SHIT!!!

I... I need to watch this a few dozen more times, but - this is FANTASTIC. You play with genre like nobody's business! (And yes, I enjoyed the Sheppard, ah, moments. You know me too well. *g*)

Aww, yay! Thank you!

The "irony" nose-wrinkle-grin is my very favorite clip, too.

Eeeehhhh! That was fabulous! The song fits perfectly with that creepy-gleeful way the Wraith have of dealing with their prey, and I loved the "cute little footsteps" with the team approaching.

*dies and is ded* That is so much genius in a 2.35 minute package. The timing is all perfect and works so very, very well.

I also loved Sheppard doing his little twirl, and I LOVED how you timed that to end with the Queen. Just brilliant!
