bironic: Neil Perry gazing out a window at night (Default)
Slow day at work today (for the first time in months, yay) meant I had time to draft replies to all the Starships! and Masters of War comments in a Word doc. When I got home I copied and pasted them all in—and now LJ thinks I'm a spammer and is making me fill out Captchas, ha.

Glad I got that done, though, since I'm going to be offline for a few days starting tomorrow while my mom comes down for a visit.

Other VVC recs will have to wait until next week. Except for this one, seen last night:

We Didn't Start the Fire by fiercynn and scribe. Impressive, joyful compilation of fandoms across the decades. It's going to take more viewings to catch half of what they did here; it's packed full. Not sure all the matches work for me, but many of the ones I did catch on the first go-round are alternately fun and resonant—because yeah, maybe Spock's death scene in Wrath of Khan did weigh on fannish hearts like "Santayana goodbye."
