bironic: Neil Perry gazing out a window at night (RSL neil window)

Moved out; drove up; signed the lease; met with HR and new office (full of introverts, comedians and/or sweethearts); converted car stuff; canceled/set up services; wilted in the heat; ran into a friend; moving in tomorrow! *breathes*

Conclusions of the week:

- Saying goodbye to friends sucks.
- Making life changes is invigorating.
- Comcast is the worst.
- Sometimes life does treat you well, even if it throws a heat wave at you.

The going-away party at work was lovely. The going-away party with fangirls was also lovely - nearly everyone local was able to attend, including [livejournal.com profile] synn - plus people helped me offload leftover items that fell between "useful to move" and "good enough to give to Goodwill."

And. And and. [livejournal.com profile] deelaundry made me a farewell vidlet! Friends It is super adorable and packed with snapshots of stuff we enjoyed together since I moved down there, bookending an even pithier Sherlock/John vidlet she'd been wanting to make for a while.

Now to figure out how to spend the day until and after my sister arrives to help with the move. Re...lax...ing? I only vaguely recall this concept.

Ah, here we go - it appears there is an opportunity to go to the park with my hostess and the 18-month-old.

You are a very accomplished adult, aren't you. That vid is most adorable, though, I bet it was hard to leave those kind of friends behind, even if 'new frontiers' are exiting and invigoration.

And soon you'll be here!

When you get a chance let me know your new contact info, and I'll try hard to start setting up sociality.

Sorry - I just realized you might not have this tradition, in my headspace jewish people know ALL the european traditions. It's what we would give to somebody who's just moved in in Germany.......

wikipedia has taught me something new, too: When this tradition is observed in spaceflight, appropriately small packages of bread and salt are used.[1][2]

Phew! Relaxing sounds mandatory after all that! Have a nice time kicking back, if only briefly. :D
