bironic: Neil Perry gazing out a window at night (RSL neil window)

Here are the rest of my favorites from this year's [livejournal.com profile] festivids masterlist. The ones I find myself watching again and again are marked with a ♥.

Due to an uncharacteristic bout of textual self-restraint, I did not elaborate on why these are particular favorites. My comments on the original vid posts pretty much encompass everything. But feel free to ask, if you are interested!

ETA Feb. 14: Now with vidder names.

Action:
Side note: I am impressed by how many vids in this year's collection push or surpass the five-minute mark without losing steam, including not only "Let's Go" but also Infinite (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and All I Want (Life of Pi) - ha, both of which are by anoel

I don't know how to categorize these but they are also good:

Bonus points for audio choice:

Need to see:

Did not know (and was delighted to find out) it has a fandom:

It would not be a complete list without some kink:

*If thingswithwings didn't make one of these (I Am What I Am has that sweet acceptance/declaration of kinky/poly identity, and Kinky Neighbors is reminiscent of James Bondage) -- or maybe the one for Transparent, as it's so moving, like last year's Dottie Got Spanked vid -- I will lose all faith in my guessing skills.**

**Granted, I have never guessed right on anything, so there's not much faith to start with.

My vid(s) may or may not be included in the above list. *steepled villain fingers*

& a reminder to check out Almost Human

...you haven't watched Almost Human? It was so, so good. Sigh.

For one thing, it took way longer than it should have for me to realize it was not the same thing as "Being Human"... oops.

I still get those two titles/shows mixed up if they come up randomely in conversation. ;)

Thanks for this post since it alerted me to go check out the vids, some of which were really great :).

I had never heard of it, but it does sound like it *was* good. Sigh, sounds like another show too intelligent (excuse me, "information-heavy") for the masses.

I hadn't realized it had been canceled, either. Sigh.

Ha - yes, I've perked up with interest occasionally upon glimpsing something about "Being Human" only to realise it wasn't The Right show *g*

See, I don't even think it was even a particularly "intellectual" or demanding show - its charm was mainly in its characters/setting/dialogue rather than being some big complicated thing, although they did start dropping tantalising hints about "The Wall" and other backstory which was so promising. But yeah, I get the impression that very few people actually watched it, I suppose science fiction is generally a harder "sell" to the general public than, say, crime.

ETA: Since you haven't actually seen the show I have to add that Michael Ealy is gorgeous, "Gareth" from the UK The Office is both hilarious and surprisingly charming, and the show is slashy as hell, with lines like "Don't scan my testicles... ever again." Okay, that''s probably the crudest example, but it is quite lovely in that respect *g*
