I ended up being glad the Ortberg book was a library loan. Parts of it were great, others less so. Somewhat dependent on one's knowledge of the original works. Not as solid as Hark, A Vagrant.

[personal profile] deelaundry got me the Tim Gunn book half as a joke, but it turned out to have a few useful pieces of advice. The parts about finding certain kinds of clothes that work for different body types was obvious for anyone such as you who've worked out what works for you, but I found some of the sections on defining a personal style interesting. And some random other bits and bobs. It had a sweet, confidence-boosting tone, which made up for all the silly doodles of shoes and scarves and stuff. If you like, I can pass it along to you?
