This ep:

Yes, body swap, etc., thank you for not killing Zelenka, I actually didn't mind Carson, Chewy Chewie jokes not yet getting old, bodyswap woman was like a zombie personality-wise, might've been cooler if they'd done the whole beginning with Keller looking like Keller so we could've been confused along with her, nice job making the first thief black, kind of sucks that what's her name died like that, also kind of sucks that they didn't leave us much moral gray area to feel bad for her, continuing discomfort with Keller liking Rodney mostly when Rodney isn't acting like himself. And why do they keep casting people who look the same?

Next ep:

OMG. OMG OMG OMG, that is going to be maybe the best episode they've ever done. Parallel world and people in suits and weird timeline merging and Wraith attacks in cars and someone who looked like Todd or at least a Wraith with long white hair as a human and the Atlantis universe bleeding in and meta and OMG. ANTICIPATE WITH ME. But if you actually know anything about what's coming please do not spoil.

*ANTICIPATES*

*tries not to think about all the ways the preview could be better than the actual episode*

...Man, I've missed watching episodes by myself.

I am gleeful for the episode, and the preview, yay!

Also I am studiously avoiding my grading. Heh.

While you are avoiding grading (I have given up on my work for the day), tell me what you liked about tonight!

Oh, I haven't actually watched it yet. The Mr and I are watching Top Chef right now, and I'm surfing, and then I'll have my shower and watch SGA later tonight. :)

But I love checking out ep reactions, so. Here I am!

They have so few episodes left that it was disappointing they went with the tired old body-swap plot. I was worried about Zelenka for a while there, though. And I wish she had pulled the trigger in the puddlejumper, just for added angst.

The next ep looks really fun, though. I'm looking forward to it too (unspoiled, as per usual).

IAWTC. :) I'd been afraid they were going to knock off Zelenka after all those DVD commentary jokes about how nobody on Atlantis likes Zelenka, har har. And then I thought they might kill what's her name while the bodies were still swapped, so they wouldn't have killed Keller but she would have spent the rest of the season -- all two episodes of it -- in someone else's body. But I guess they love Jewel Staite too much to do that. And yes, it would've been cool if she'd shot Rodney just before Ronon got there, and then three main characters could've been grievously injured instead of just two. And Rodney and Keller could've cuddled up in matching infirmary beds at the end, with Zelenka grumbling in the background.

OK, now that I've watched:

I love Ronon. I love TEAM. Not so excited with Keller, although sometmes Rodney and Keller are adorable together. And NEXT WEEK OMG.

I love that Ronon's still not giving up on Keller, and there's still an edge of competition there with Rodney. No offense to Rodney, but Ronon and Keller deserve each other more. And fit better.

NEXT EPISODE HAD BETTER BE AS AMAZING AS THE PREVIEW PROMISES.

continuing discomfort with Keller liking Rodney mostly when Rodney isn't acting like himself

YES. This bothers me. Rodney knows he's trying too hard and she's just encouraging it. He's going to end up bitter and angry one day -- or completely broken into a meek little thing. Although I liked the thing in the lab when Jennifer touched and imprinted on the stones and he was good old snappish OMG-you-idiot Rodney.

I am SO PSYCHED about the next episode.

(I think it says a lot about me that some of my favourite things are when Rodney, House, and Wilson call people idiots. Probably that I wish I could do the same thing.)

Like they did with Michael? That's a real pity. Michael was the single best episode that they've done, that I recall (and have seen yet).

I've missed watching episodes by myself.

Seriously, or are you being sarcastic? I always wish I had someone to watch with, because the show's no fun without running commentary, and running commentary is way more fun with multiple people.

I meant it, actually. I like being able to focus on what's going on the first time, hear what everyone's saying at the least, and then enjoy wacko commentary thereafter. Watching with my TV-watching buddy this year has made for a totally different experience, both with House and SGA, and I'm not sure I like it, especially when I haven't had the time (or inclination, and that's likely related to the above) to watch episodes twice.

Hmm. I think I know what you mean. Vid watching, for example, is not my idea of a group activity. SGA is a show I watch for commentary since I'm not sufficiently into it to enjoy it without at least one level of removal.

Yeah, I was going to suggest that the lower a show's quality -- or, to be less judgmental, as you say, the less you enjoy watching it/are invested in it -- the greater the need for fellow hecklers to help you make it through.

It doesn't even need to be heckling. I enjoy consuming all sorts of information other people find unentertaining by interesting myself in the meta level. It even works for real life: if you can be amused by the fact that someone is being a jerk, you're going to come away a lot more cheerful than if you just suffer through the jerkishness.

Ya, true. Ah, that's the price I pay for replacing "commentators/hecklers" with just "hecklers" to minimize all the sloppy slashes.

Heh. I struggle not to use slashes when speaking aloud.

PREVIEW, WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I am crossing my fingers for a good episode.

And MAN, how much do I want Joe & David to guest on House together? A LOT. If they don't want to do the same-sex couple thing, I've got another plot idea for BFFs helping each other raise a kid.
