Tho' the weather outside is frightful...
Dec. 19th, 2008 11:27 amDo hospitals have CCTV in their MRI rooms?
"Love Hurts" was on TV last night. Man, Wilson used to be pretty. Prettier.
Safely home in NY for the weekend and stuffed full of potato latkes. On the bus ride down yesterday, we passed through some areas that had been hit by the ice storm earlier this week (which only brought rain, rain, rain to Boston). Acres and acres of glazed bare treetops glinting in the pale sunlight. I can never decide whether they look like glass or candy. Gorgeous.
When I bought my bus tickets, I made sure to be home for a previously scheduled dentist appointment this morning and then the ex-company holiday party tonight. Last night I realized I didn't know where my house key was. Okay; my sister lent me hers this morning. Then my car wouldn't start. Nobody else is home. Canceled the dentist appointment. Okay; $100 less I have to spend this month (though it'll probably go to a new car battery, or the inspection I put off when I went to school). Ditto for not being able to go holiday gift shopping if I wanted to.
Now it is snowing. Hooray for snow. It's the first real snow of the season. It might snow enough that I won't want to drive 25 miles to get to the ex-company holiday party, though, which means I could've stayed up at school another day and not gone out of my mind trying to get stuff done.
ETA: piccies:

I am very happy for snow, and I did enough schoolwork on the bus that I'm now settled in with a blanket and am working on fic. Fic! I started this one in May and never got back to it. The story started to go somewhere I wasn't expecting, and I wasn't sure how to handle that. Hopefully today I'll make some progress.

Date: Dec. 20th, 2008 03:34 am (UTC)Greyhound (http://www.greyhound.com/home/) will get you there and back for $30, if you click the $12 special link on the bottom of the home page. They run from Port Authority in NYC to South Station in Boston, which is on the subway line that goes to my school. It takes about 4 1/2 hours with no traffic. If you want to go cheaper, we can look at some of the Chinatown buses, which are more like $20 round trip.

Date: Dec. 20th, 2008 08:34 am (UTC)Had a lovely day, although the weather was frightful - wish-I'd-brought-a-jacket cold and drizzling rain most of today. It's SUMMER, for heaven's sake! SUMMER!
One day, I will attempt latkes.

4 baking potatoes : 4 eggs : 1 onion : 1 tsp salt : 1/2 tsp baking powder = fried deliciousness, with applesauce.

Date: Dec. 22nd, 2008 05:25 am (UTC)Potatoes = delicious. But with applesauce? Sorry, but euwww. I've long known I'm not a fan of any meat/fruit combination, but apparently this also extends to potatoes XD
