Do hospitals have CCTV in their MRI rooms?

"Love Hurts" was on TV last night. Man, Wilson used to be pretty. Prettier.

Safely home in NY for the weekend and stuffed full of potato latkes. On the bus ride down yesterday, we passed through some areas that had been hit by the ice storm earlier this week (which only brought rain, rain, rain to Boston). Acres and acres of glazed bare treetops glinting in the pale sunlight. I can never decide whether they look like glass or candy. Gorgeous.

When I bought my bus tickets, I made sure to be home for a previously scheduled dentist appointment this morning and then the ex-company holiday party tonight. Last night I realized I didn't know where my house key was. Okay; my sister lent me hers this morning. Then my car wouldn't start. Nobody else is home. Canceled the dentist appointment. Okay; $100 less I have to spend this month (though it'll probably go to a new car battery, or the inspection I put off when I went to school). Ditto for not being able to go holiday gift shopping if I wanted to.

Now it is snowing. Hooray for snow. It's the first real snow of the season. It might snow enough that I won't want to drive 25 miles to get to the ex-company holiday party, though, which means I could've stayed up at school another day and not gone out of my mind trying to get stuff done.

ETA: piccies:

I am very happy for snow, and I did enough schoolwork on the bus that I'm now settled in with a blanket and am working on fic. Fic! I started this one in May and never got back to it. The story started to go somewhere I wasn't expecting, and I wasn't sure how to handle that. Hopefully today I'll make some progress.

In the hospital where I've gotten an MRI, I don't remember seeing CCTV. The MRI is such a powerful magnet that I had to leave my watch in another room down the hall, etc; I wonder whether the magnet would impact televisions and so forth, too? (I have no idea -- my scientific knowledge is embarrassingly high-school-level...)

Embarrassingly, I've been in MRI and CT rooms four times in the last year-ish, and I never thought to check, even though the latter two times I already knew I wanted to set a story in one that might involve bribes about security cameras. Guess my mind was on other things -- go figure. :)

p.s. Love the icon.

Yay! I just got off the phone with my mom, who (a) will get an elephant card tomorrow when I see her and (b) wants to read my tentacle fic when I'm done. O_O I told her I won't be able to look her in the eye afterwards. She seems very sanguine about the whole thing.

Yay for snow! I miss it. And I love the pictures - they make me want to break out the tea and slippers.

I've missed it too, and it's only been a year for me. Actually, a few months less than a year. It is so pretty.

Lovely snow :-) I've never seen a real ice-storm, we only get mini-version here, but I love the look of glaced-over trees, too.

Btw. bus Boston-NY - how long and what cost, app.? I should plan going up to see you! :-)

Greyhound (http://www.greyhound.com/home/) will get you there and back for $30, if you click the $12 special link on the bottom of the home page. They run from Port Authority in NYC to South Station in Boston, which is on the subway line that goes to my school. It takes about 4 1/2 hours with no traffic. If you want to go cheaper, we can look at some of the Chinatown buses, which are more like $20 round trip.

p.s. What day were you thinking of coming up again? It seems I didn't write it down anywhere.

Err, not entirely sure. Depends on your plans, too!

I'm in NYC ca. 15th to 25th January so sometime during those days.

Hiya! I made it about 100 words in the fic -- editing mostly, with a little bit added -- and then stared for a while. Didn't go to the party bc of car and weather, tried another plan but that failed, and ended up going out with my mom and her bf which has been an adventure I'd not like to soon repeat. But at her place now, safe and warming, with a toasted English muffin.

Hope you are warm and happy yourself over there. *hug*

Why does everyone (okay, two of you) get OMG real snow? *g*

Had a lovely day, although the weather was frightful - wish-I'd-brought-a-jacket cold and drizzling rain most of today. It's SUMMER, for heaven's sake! SUMMER!

One day, I will attempt latkes.

I think 1/3 to 1/2 of the country has gotten snow over the past few days. Nifty. Unless you were traveling; then not so nifty.

Has the weather gotten better for you? Cold and drizzly is never fun, summer or winter.

4 baking potatoes : 4 eggs : 1 onion : 1 tsp salt : 1/2 tsp baking powder = fried deliciousness, with applesauce.

Hee - today it's beautiful, sunny and warm again. The way it should be ;)

Potatoes = delicious. But with applesauce? Sorry, but euwww. I've long known I'm not a fan of any meat/fruit combination, but apparently this also extends to potatoes XD

Sour cream, then, perhaps? Apparently that is the other traditional option.

Yay! You're here!!! I got your card yesterday and it made me squee - it's the first card of the year, so you clearly win the holidays! :D

It's so wonderful to have you back in town (uh, sort of). Let me know when you'll have some time to hang out, because I would LOVE to see you.

*HUGS*
