bironic: Neil Perry gazing out a window at night (lazarus blah)
[personal profile] bironic
1. Back to work today. Sigh.

2. If I'd known the sga_flashfic amnesty challenge would close 4+ days late, I'd have worked harder on finishing my other story.

3. For the record, I am not watching Merlin. I have a longstanding issue with doing what everyone else is doing, even in fandom. (see also: this)

4. The epic battle of [livejournal.com profile] bironic vs. the upstairs neighbor and upstairs neighbor's guest has ended in a draw as the footsteps were finally drowned out by the kitchen vent on high joining the fan on high, permitting two full nights of sleep in a row.

ETA: Correction: Neighbor pulls ahead.

5. Okay. Do the work, then see if there's time left over.

…or maybe a nap.

ETA: 6. The class I was interested in taking has been cancelled.

Looks like someone has a case of the Mondays.

I hear broomsticks counter noisy footsteps quite well.

Or you could start playing the trumpet, like my downstairs neighbor sophomore year.

I'm sure escalating is the way to go.

You've seen my ceiling -- even standing on the desk with a long broom, I wouldn't be able to reach. :(

Or bagpipes. There's nothing like drunken bagpipes at 3am. ...I am for the abolishment of all neighbours. (Or for moving to a less student-infested apartment building.)

For a couple of years in college, it was bhangra music so my hallmate could practice his singing. At three in the morning. WHAT ARE PEOPLE THINKING.

The funny thing is that I never hear sober bagpipes. It's always, "Whee! Time to roll out the keg, put on our party hats, and then we can really rock out on the bagpipe!"

Aww. I don't think the show is particularly bad on race & gender. Better than plenty of Bad (or even "Good") Shows fandom has previously swarmed. Not that I'm telling you to watch a show you don't like. Merlin is not exactly Quality, so if it doesn't pique your interest, there's no need to give it a second glance. (In fact, you're better off that way -- watching a show that's still airing is a pain. :P)

Thing is, everyone watching something makes me not want to watch it. It almost has nothing to do with the show itself. The fact that it seems to be mediocre only makes me want to see it less.

Oh, no. Maybe that's why you weren't feeling well over the weekend.

Aw, Shawn's dad made him hate comics as a kid and now he's all jealous of Gus for being able to go to cons and meet people.

*hugs back* I tried the advanced dance class tonight -- too much by the end. Will try intermediate tomorrow. Unf. intermediate is ~45 minutes away by T while advanced is up the street.

Might be. Felt bad friday, bad saturday, and worse sunday. Don't know if it's better today b/c I have been moving about and have throat lozenges, or if it's actually getting better.

*whine*
BLEH.

Aww. I think I saw that one , don't really remember. New one this friday! (!!) I am very glad. Am also going to be buying the seasons, when the prices drop to the right amount, so next time I see you I'm going to make you watch MANY EPISODES.

boo for dance class being too much. I hope intermediate is better, even if it is further away. You'd get out, and get exercise.

Sulu was in that one. And Zelenka from SGA, which is how I was directed there over the weekend. He was the convention announcer, flailing because George Takei's blueberries hadn't arrived.

The exercise and not-thinking about schoolwork will be indispensable. Tonight wasn't bad physically, it was that the steps went by so quickly. They're able to pick up choreography like that. *snaps* The teacher said intermediate gets more repetition, which I now know I need.

*hands you tissues*

I see. Repetition is good. I never understood how people could pick up steps in a snap. *shrugs* I think part of it really depends on how you learn -- I learn by doing, not hearing, so a teacher could say the steps fifty times, but I won't get it unless i actually *do* it fifty times.

Ah, yes, I did see that episode. entertaining. are you hooked even more now?
