31 Days, 31 Memories - Day 16
Jan. 15th, 2006 10:57 pm19. Elementary School
My family was at the county fair for the day. As we were sitting down on a porch I leaned against a wood post and caught my back against a nail, hard enough to break the skin. I don't remember much about it except crying and my father taking me inside the shop or somewhere for antiseptic, probably hydrogen peroxide. And then again, a few weeks later, sitting on the couch in our living room when it was time to take the bandage off, me insisting that he pull it off as slowly as possible and him explaining that it would be better to rip it off all at once.
That's invariably what I think of whenever someone says "rip it off like a Band-Aid."

Date: Jan. 17th, 2006 02:26 am (UTC)Coincidentally, tonight's post is in a similar vein.
I'm awfully sorry for the lapse; you are my most faithful memory-poster and deserve more comments in response. I couldn't bring myself to sit in front of the computer this weekend, but promise to catch up ASAP.

And don't be sorry, it's fine really :-) I like doing these. I think I'll post the lot in one large post when the month is through.
