Spring is springing!

I took a whole bunch of images today, and this was the only one that came out well. This camera does its best on its "macro" setting, where it focuses sharply on something close up and blurs the rest. Being an automatic digital, there's no opportunity to fiddle much with settings.

Sadly, summer is already trying to push through -- it was almost ninety degrees Saturday and will be that high again tomorrow.

It's beautiful up here right now, with all the trees budding and the flowering trees and forsythia in bloom. I could do without the 90-degree heat, though.

Ugh, yes. I'd forgotten what this place looks like with foliage, but did we have to skip straight to August weather?

Wow, a tree with green buds on it! *Is envious* Everything here is grey, grey, grey. With predictions of snow. NO, I DO NOT LIVE IN ANTARCTICA, SURPRISINGLY.

spriiiiiiiiing! It's so hard to keep up with the seasons with all of the traveling. Not really excited to be in Florida on Friday, though... I'm sure it'll be like 105 degrees and humid.

Blah. On the other hand, doesn't that describe the weather inside every venue?

not every venue is like the one I took you to in Florida to see Ours... many of them are actually air conditioned. That being said, it's gonna be a sweaty mess loading in tomorrow.

Too late! It's summer now. :( I love fall in Boston, but I really wish we could have more than one day of spring. There ought to be a law... *considers writing to the governor*

My allergies would be in favor of the short blooming season, but it *would* be nice to have some warm weather before we get the hot weather.

Didn't we just have an Arctic front a week ago?

I was reading about the Arctic when I got the comment notification, so your reply confused me for a second ("Wait, we were in the Arctic when?").

Earlier today R and I were discussing travel to the Antarctic, and after consulting a former McMurdo resident concluded that in winter, Antarctica is the most distant spot by travel time from anywhere on the globe. I'm grateful we don't have that kind of weather. But I could stand if it were a little brisker. Even the wind is hot right now, which means it interferes with parasols but provides no compensatory cool.

Today was nice, no? Yesterday I managed not to go outside between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. By evening it was still warm, with the warm wind, but at least the sun was mostly gone.

I do not know what I'm going to do all summer in D.C. weather. Antarctica might actually be preferable.

...That actually looks pretty painful. I IMAGINE LEAVES BURSTING THROUGH MY SKIN.

But glad you'll get a break from the snow~.

Ouch. Thankfully we are not trees. Except for that maybe-hoax about the guy with the fir sprig in his lung (http://www.livescience.com/strangenews/090414-fir-tree.html).
