Well, same as penetrative sex is basically the same thing over and over. :) I'd say tentacle!fic is as flexible a category as bondage and con/dubcon/noncon and bestiality and aliens and object insertion and sensation play and ... other stuff, all wrapped up (heh) together.

LOL, yes, I mean, that's what I was thinking, and intellectually I know that... but. Hmmm. Maybe what I find limiting are the number of ways I can think of to get tentacles involved in the first place. You can tell I haven't read much in the way of tentacle fic, but I approve of the concept XD

SGA fandom is fun in that there are lots of ways to get 'here to there' -- aliens! sentient technology! transformation!

Thanks! I had a look through, and they're fascinating - I see that 'tentacles' is really only a very loose term for the genre, which was interesting to see in action. I've only seen one fic from you that I remember - the unfinished House one. Did you do some SGA ones as well? Definitely seems to lend itself more to SF fandoms, but I guess there are always ways :)
