I just wrote this whole thing about how I'm feeling bad about myself today &c &c, but I hate writing those posts almost as much as I hate reading those posts, so instead let's talk about cons.

Either way, it's going to be really nice to see you again, even if it's not for very long.

This is your friendly neighborhood reminder to rec those podfics you mentioned. I'll be burning the CDs in the next few hours.

Oooh, right! Thank you for reminding me :D Okay, so:

I posted some podfic recs here once, so you can look through that. My absolute favorite that I listened to a bunch of times is astolat's Time Of Your Life, a long Cook/Archuleta fic. I mentioned And Be One Traveler there, but I have to say that the recording is a little uneven there, so I'm not sure I'd totally rec it; there are sound issues.

Conclusions is an adorable, funny, fun fic by [livejournal.com profile] bexless, Bandom, Frank/Gerard, and it's an AU so you need no background to listen to it; the only thing is that it's long, so I'm not sure it'll fit on a single CD.

Retrograde was the fic that got me into SG-1; it's a really great SGA/SG-1 crossover. The reader is really good, and she has an adorable Scottish accent which is maybe a little weird at first but you get used to it quickly.

And omg, I just saw that astolat's City of One Thousand Wonders has been recorded -- I haven't listened to it yet, but I love both the fic and the reader. A lot. It's Kris/Adam. And hee, the same reader also recorded Paper Gangsta, which is a hilarious Kris/Adam fic where Kris is an assassin hired to kill Adam; v. v. awesome. And Far Along This Road is another Kris/Adam fic I love, but I don't know this reader, so I can't rec the reading; the fic itslef is good, though, an AU where Kris owns a bar and Adam's a theater actor.

Um... I wish I could rec you more in fandoms we have in common, but this is what I've got. Hope it helps :-)

I almost warned you off, and then I didn't, any Adam Lambert stuff, so now I will suffer the consequences! Thanks for these. I do remember liking Retrograde and And Be One Traveler, and forgot there was podfic of Shoebox, and the NCIS/Iron Man could be fun -- thanks. Also following your link over to [livejournal.com profile] thingswithwings -- fx I seem to remember a pair of stories she and [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy released only as podfic that I didn't get around to listening to.

Hee. Honestly, I think that in podfic, the reader is more important than the fic itself; which is why for example I really enjoyed the Jared/Jensen fic, though I've never read any in my life. In any case, the one reader I can rec you who was the one who read my favorite AI fics that I mentioned is aphelant. She has a great voice, intonation, she's clear, funny, etc; you can search the archive by reader so you can just look through her things and see what else you like.

Cool. I haven't browsed through the archive in a couple of years and am looking forward to it. Seeing what [livejournal.com profile] jadesfire2808 has done lately (er, on my scale of lately) too, since, as you know and as I've told her, she has a gorgeous and spirited reading voice.

I have taken two aphelant readings (including your AI rec, grr), a thingswithwings rec, and Benched & MVP (recced by a commenter in your post; I love those stories). Also a couple of others I caught on the archive of stories and readers I like. Thanks again.

I LOVE TICKYBOXES.

Also, I'm sorry it took me so long to comment; my cat was lying on the keyboard. :)

I don't have enough knowledge to answer the quiz and pass (except I'm betting on Sebastienne) but:

DON'T FEEL BAD! I WON'T HAVE IT! *EMERGENCY HUG*

You know, there are no right answers, except for that question -- and you would have been right.

*accepts hug gratefully*

No Vividcon for me this year, but someday I'll go again! When I'm not on a different contienent!

The House timeline is like the medicine. No one on the production staff has cared since season one or maybe two.

And yet, it is such a simple thing to get right. I am baffled. It baffles me.

The timeline, I mean. The medicine is more likely to need to be bent to fit the narrative. Or however you say that in a grammatically correct way.
