Live, from North Carolina -- it's time for another round of "Badfic Or Published Novel?"

I had never realized that the experience of being fucked would be so pleasurable that it might make me come.

Place your bets, folks!

Hahahahah. I will take "Missing The Point" for $500, Alex. (I know, wrong game show, but still!)

It is just... not the ending I thought the sentence was headed for.

Well, [livejournal.com profile] synn is still somehow and somewhy powering through it, so if there are any more outstanding lines, I'll be sure to share.

That's ... very sad. On multiple levels.

I want to say it's Badfic, but since you provided a choice, I'm terribly afraid the actual answer is Published Novel.

Eeek!

My reasoning, too. Especially since that wouldn't really be a shock to see in badfic.

That's ... better than you can hope for in some published books. Especially with print-on-demand on the rise. I read a book recently where someone "giggled" a box to try to determine what was in it. The fact that it was self-published made me feel a little bit better. Then worse again when I found out the author used to be a reporter for a newspaper.

Oh, jeez. This one isn't self-published, I don't think. Although according to synn, there was just a line about people playing "badmitten." (Bad mitten! Bad! No yarn for you!)

My mom read a published mystery novel about 25 years ago where a woman had been beaten to the point where there were "whelps" on her arms.

Heh, I've seen that mistake. Also, it really seems that goofs like "dropping the reigns" and "he was payed for his work" have become increasingly common.

I'm seeing its/it's confusion a lot more recently -- in newspapers, on TV captions, in general usage -- and it's killing me. I will need to seek professional help if it becomes "acceptable usage."

Yeah, the game title sort of gives it away. Still - to think that it would be so easy to publish something even moderately less crappy...

That has to be a Published Novel. Even badfic authors know that the point of sex is orgasm. *g*

Is the narrator a victim of sexual abuse? That's about the only thing I could think of where that sentence might make some sort of sense.

No, no - sorry, a mistranslation of tone there. More of "yeah... thought something similar, and that would have excused it, but there is no excuse!"

Totally a Pro Novel. *nodnodnod*

On a completely different subject, Roga said you should see this (http://xenakis.dreamwidth.org/38557.html). She did not say why :P

There were also *facepalm*-worthy lines about being gay and being a parent not going together (despite this being gay erotica), and ... stuff I've blocked from memory already. A real winner. And on Amazon, apparently people rated it 4-5 stars!

What is "Fuck you, Alex"? ;)

Oooh! Oooh! Pick me! I know!

Definitely published novel. Because a badfic would have the exact same line, but "come" would be spelled C-U-M. :)

My favourite line from a recently published book: "Oh no! We've never had two simultaneous signals AT THE SAME TIME!"

*facepalm*
