Guess who just scored a comp ticket to see Robert Davi sing on Friday?

I didn't even know it was happening until someone offered the ticket to me. Cocktail dress and Kolya, here I come.

.

This weekend will be busy again, but a highlight should be the annual zombie walk in Silver Spring Saturday night. I plan to go as a vampire in support of zombie rights; [livejournal.com profile] alpheratz said it would be okay. Perhaps that would be the perfect occasion for the brain cupcakes (for which I now have all the supplies).

.

Have come up with two ideas for [livejournal.com profile] festivids that I am totally in love with. Unfortunately, no one who's posted their requests so far has named either source. Maybe I'll make them later anyway. ETA: My assignment is totally one of them! Score!

.

So, it seems lots of people will be coming to D.C. next Saturday for Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity. Are you one of them? I ask so (a) I can decide if I want to go, and (b) if you're a friend from out of town and have a little extra time, we might meet up.

I knowwww. You would see the foliage -- which hasn't really changed yet -- and the gourds and could dress up as Kradam or whatever for Halloween.

But! At least you have important and occasionally fun things to accomplish in the next short while, right?

I am trying to picture you dressing up as half of Kradam for Halloween. Were you thinking you'd be Adam or Kris? How is this going to work? *totally puzzled*

I meant that you could dress up as Kradam, like you sort of did at Vividcon! :)

ETA: Ha, I didn't read carefully and thought that comment was from [livejournal.com profile] roga, who put together an outfit for Club Vivid that we decided was a little like Kris and a little like Adam, and therefore exemplified the pairing.

Kolya sings? What a concept! I bet he has a nice, deep voice, though. (I love baritones and basses.)

Wikipedia says it is so (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Davi?wasRedirected=true)!

"Davi, who has a classically-trained baritone voice, initially wanted to be an opera singer. A chronic vocal injury caused him to become a movie-actor instead."

Cool! I'd love to hear him sing operatic (and other) villains. I envy you and hope you have a great time!

When I Googled the name of the show, it turned out he's performed it at least once before, back in NY - who knows, maybe it's a traveling thing?

zombie walk = yay! I saw asheville had/has one, but 1) didn't trust anyone would show up, and 2) have not outfit.
The idea of going as a vampire in support of zombie rights is awesome.

I have no idea who Robert Davi is, but, um - hurray ticket?

It was all [livejournal.com profile] alpheratz's doing - I said what happens to people who go to a zombie walk as a vampire? Do they get eaten? And she said you can go in support of rights or vampire-zombie marriage or whatever, and my heart was won.

When you get to "The Storm" & "The Eye" in season 1 of SGA, you will meet Kolya!

No, wait -- you met him already. He was the one who tried to feed John to the Wraith in that ep I showed you a couple of years ago.

it is awesome. you will need a sign that says what you are supporting. Pictures are required.

Oh, i didn't realize Kolya was the guy who was singing, considering I don't pay attention to actors names. Except ford's, which was... impressive. Also, a shame, b/c i liked ford. Am about halfway through season two, fyi.

Cool! Yeah, they're not so meaty you can't watch a bunch of them in a row, eh?

I am trying to catch up on Vampire Diaries. Similar heft. But I do like it.

I will totally be making a sign, and I will totally be bringing my camera. Though I suspect the pictures will be better when taken from onlookers. We shall see.

yes, easy to leave on whilst doing something else. I like that they're silly, because as much as I appreciate intelligent shows, there's so many that are over-dramatic and it makes it feel like they're only playing at intelligent. I'm tired of them.
Plus, you can totally pair anyone up with anyone else. (and ronon is still yummy).

I want at least one picture of you with the sign.

Also, my mom kind of wants to go to the rally. I do too, but she was asking how long it would take to drive up to DC.

yeah, 8 according to mapquest, which is what I told her. It's not feasible, which is sad. I still have vacation days left, but I can't take the last work day of the month off, and that's what I'd have to do.

I want to try and hit the rally, but my plans are kind of scattered at the moment. Would love to try and cross paths if it works out that way, though. AND OH MY GOODNESS THOSE CUPCAKES. That is a delectably clever idea.
