bironicFinally, I am in town when an earthquake hits! Usually they strike when I have gone away for the weekend or whatnot; I have missed them in NY, MA and the DC area. That was cool. It rumbled and shook and kept rumbling and shaking until we all figured out what was going on. My office promptly fled the building because it's old and has questionable structural integrity, and then the whole agency was eventually told to evacuate until inspections can be done, so now I am home. \o/ And supposed to telework, but connectivity is terrible, so I think... vidding.
No injuries, no visible damage, just excitement. I'm only disappointed not to have seen what others in D.C. report seeing, i.e. walls flexing and the ground moving in waves.
Hope none of you are traveling along the northeastern seaboard today.
Next up: Flying to Georgia as a hurricane approaches.
