3D tentacle art! Well, "art."
Mar. 10th, 2012 03:04 pmThis month's
kink_bingo challenge is "new horizons"—trying something you haven't tried before. Like many people who participate, I am always trying to try (heh) new things—for instance, before the last round I hadn't pieced together a found poem, or made a vid constructed entirely of intercuts, or vidded DS9 or cartoons, or done themed recs sets, or explored several of the kinks in the squares I filled—so this challenge didn't motivate me in and of itself. But lo, the very next day
kickair8p announced over at
tentacle_fest that some powerful 3-D graphics software s/he uses to make tentacle art is available for free through the end of March. Cue
synn and I spending a day downloading the stuff and figuring out whether we could make it work.
I'd never tried anything like 3-D rendering before, but with some quick tutorials, hair-pulling, and a troubleshooting tip from
kickair8p, I learned how to pose pre-made human figures and configure $10 worth of props around them such as (*cough*) tentacles and torn clothes. Because what is the purpose of 3-D software for someone whose drawing ability has barely evolved beyond stick figures if not to make dirty pictures? Whee.
And so with no further fanfare, I present to you my first, wobbly creations. Warning that some can be interpreted as noncon.
Girl in tentacle attack pose from various angles. Not explicit, but still probably NSFW.

Girl and guy in aggressive, dom/sub or nonconsensual poses, as you prefer to read them. Again, not explicit, but NSFW.

v3 Star Trek: GENERATION Variant Officers Wrap Duty/Dress Uniforms textures for V3 Ultra Catsuit
THIS IS VERSION 1.0, KEEP AN EYE OPEN FOR FUTURE VERSIONS WITH FIXES.
2389 Starfleet went back to Retro Style uniforms. With the service of the prior duty uniform, it was decided a lighter more flexible variant style uniform was need.
The Wrap uniforms from 2260's were revamped and place back in service as an Admirals Duty uniform. It would later be issued fleet wide to all commision officers as a variant duty/dress uniform.
This file includes.
8 Presets for Command, Engineering, Marines, and Science Uniforms as well as Admirals/Generals Variants
and all related textures, bumps, and transparencies
These textures are intended be use along with Pants or Skirt
Extract all folders into Runtime folder. This product is only intended to work on DAZ Studio, and tested on DAZ Studio 3.1
These Textures ae a product of Candice Greene, and Edwin Morgan and are free for use.

Looks like that needs the Victoria 3.0 Ultra Catsuit to work:
http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/victoria-3-0?item=1307
Something that skin-tight should convert over to Genesis using AutoFit (came with DAZStudio4Pro) without any trouble, but I don't currently have it installed to make sure.
As for the textures, freebies sometimes have bad paths, this is one of them. If you dragged the Runtime folder from WinZip and dropped it into the C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library folder then the presets are in the C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\libraries\Poses\TG-Wrap Uniform folder. Move the TG-Wrap Uniform folder from the Poses folder into the Pose folder ( C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\libraries\Pose ).
You may also have to move the texture files, but try the presets first -- although their current location is non-standard, that may be where the preset files are actually pointing. But if the presets don't work then go to C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\Texture and move the Uniforms folder into C:\Users\YOUR-NAME\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Runtime\textures (which is where the texture files usually go).
