(Not that there is a lot of time right now, but)
Would anyone be interested if I did this?
"I currently have 104 fanworks archived at the AO3. Pick a number from 1 (the most recent) to 104 (the first thing I posted there), and I'll tell you three things I currently like about it."
Hey, p.s., people who are also doing this meme: How do you quickly get AO3 to tell you what number a particular work is in your collection? I only know how to see that for series.
Would anyone be interested if I did this?

Date: Aug. 14th, 2015 02:20 am (UTC)Anyway: You have picked The Benefits of Dental Hygiene, a House/SGA crossover written for
Okay, three things I like about it:
1. It is a crossover pairing. Crossovers make me happy.
2. Ronon's voice and general attitude in this little story. Very chill.
3. The callback line "Unsurprisingly, he had nice teeth."
Edited to fix link

Date: Aug. 14th, 2015 01:08 pm (UTC)1. I'd never written Rogue or Eric before, and I really like how their voices turned out. I can hear them speaking many of the lines in my head.
"I probably wouldn't. My friend Logan, he reckons he's over a hundred years old and he only looks, like, forty."
"And if I said I was ten times older again?" he asked.
2. I'm always interested in the ways fanfic writers bring two canons together in a crossover. Here, I was proud to have done it in two quick/efficient ways. First, Eric thinks of Rogue as a succubus, which situates mutants in Bon Temps terminology. And then second, when Rogue says mutants and vampires don't mix much, Eric explains, "Politics"; so the story makes it clear that both groups exist in the same world but gives a reason that we don't see one when we see the other.
3. I liked using Eric's power to let Rogue have some steamy sex, and I liked using Rogue's power to illuminate what might have been going through Eric's head after the traumatic events of "I Will Rise Up."

Date: Aug. 14th, 2015 01:20 pm (UTC)1. I like what I was able to do with this little vid even though I was struggling with a crappy ripping/codec program and hadn't yet developed a good eye for aspect ratio. Sometimes I think about remastering it.
2. Many moments still make me smile. Rodney squeezing his eyes shut on beat to "die here." Pushing away the children on "get these mutts away from me." Radek as "roly poly little bat-faced girl." Using clips of Rodney and John together on the dock from the episode where Rodney loses his memory over the first chorus, because not only is there the spit-take showing that they can have fun together as friends, but also the song says "I can call you Betty" and that was the scene where John told Rodney his niece's name was Betty.
3. Happy team feelings.

Date: Aug. 14th, 2015 09:53 pm (UTC)1. I like this vid because it exists now. I don't think I know of any other Apocalypto vids.
2. The moments where the warriors' heads all turn, and it's as creepy as I'd wanted it to be (:51); and again later during the human sacrifice ceremony when the stone knife lifts (1:25).
3. Song still strikes me as haunting, as does the film, and I'm glad to have been able to make it work with this story, down to the approaching Spanish forces at the end.

Date: Aug. 15th, 2015 01:17 am (UTC)1. I like this vid in part because it reminds me that I don't always have to have a plan going in to Festivids. sol_se's Dear Festividder letter indicated what she liked and what her attitute was toward the franchise, I got an idea, and I found this song to suit it. Dear self: It is possible!
2. Louis falling on the ground to dubstep beats. :)
3. That it may not have gotten the enthusiastic reception "Soccer Practice" did, but it seemed like a few people enjoyed it at con_txt.
