I just saw Moana recently! It is charming as hell. ♥

Yes! A little girl behind us in the theater sang along to most of Moana's songs, and at one point stood up to belt out a long note. She then declared to the audience that she had seen the movie before. :)

I've never heard of 'Der Vampir auf der Couch' but that sounds intriguing and should provide ample opportunity for drama as well as comedy. Have to check that one out.

I'm still watching Grantchester, and enjoying it for the most part. But I'm hoping that they soon resolve that will-they/won't-they relationship with Amanda one way or another.

We had hoped the vampire movie would be funnier - but it *was* quirky, and the clothes beautiful. :)

I haven't seen a lot of movies on this list. I adored "Lion" and "Hail, Caesar!" "Get Out!" was one of the best movies I've seen in years. "Victor Frankenstein" is a dog. I think I published a review of it on LJ.

I enjoyed the unusual approach of Victor Frankenstein in the beginning, and then it fell apart. That sort of reductive "science=obnoxious godlessness" (ha, I almost said "holier-than-thou godlessness") is not interesting to me, and devolving into fight sequences is disappointing.

Hail, Caesar, I thought was... fine. Sometimes the Coen brothers work for me and sometimes the experience is more a distant intellectual appreciation of theme, craft and homage than an actual enjoyment. And I don't know enough about Golden Age Hollywood to pick up on half of what they were doing.

Yes on Lion and Get Out! I couldn't write up a reaction to Get Out because every attempt felt hopelessly inadequate.

I'm an old movie buff so all of the references hit home. Plus, their dedication to doing everything properly made me very happy. Also, I loved ID'ing all of the celebrity cameos.

Ha. No, I had not heard about it. So many podcasts, so little podcast-reserved time in my life. (And now there's yet another BtVS podcast coming up from some people who contacted the Slayage scholars looking for guests! It'll be dissections of two episodes per podcast, IIRC, except for notable episodes, which will stand alone.) Thanks for the rec, though!

I went down a little BtVS rabbit hole a few months back, got all emotional about fictional friendships and teacher-mentors and college memories and stuff, and was grateful Netflix pulled their streaming episodes so I could break the habit and get back to watching my auction vid sources. :)
