One last question as I put together the vid posts for next weekend, when it will show at Wiscon.

This was a vid made for charity, and I'm wondering if it would be appropriate to include a note at the bottom inviting people to donate to extend its impact. I've never seen it done before, but there's a chance this vid will be popular, in which case it would be cool to take advantage of that opportunity to raise some more funds for charity, given the amount of work that went into it.

What do you think: COOL IDEA or SUPER TACKY?

Not tacky at all. You are planning to put the note on the website, not the vid itself, right? Otherwise I think you might have to be prepared for some trolling and inflamatory comments on certain platforms if it goes viral. But if it's on the web page there should be no problems, as you'll have self-selected audience.

This comes from somebody outside the US, so take with a pinch of salt. But I have noticed that since US politics have become so devicive anyting with even just a vaguely political content on youtube and similar generates a lot flame waring.

Yeah, good point. The vid does say "Fandom Trumps Hate 2017-2018" on a closing slide but I was only planning to put the donation invitation in the notes on Dreamwidth, AO3 and Tumblr. Definitely not YouTube, now that you mention it, and I guess I do need to brace for complaints there that are related to the name of the fest in addition to those about the content of the vid itself.
