An email from an old co-worker this morning:

"I was in the city on Saturday with my niece and stumbled upon the US Premiere of the movie. We were walking out of the MOMA and this is what we heard:

500 screaming girls: YAWWAAAAAAAAAAWAHAHHHHHHHH
Silence
500 screaming girls: WYAHAHWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Silence
500 screaming girls: WAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I am guessing that the last one was when "Harry" himself arrived. We couldn't see anything, but my niece stood on her tip toes and claims to have seen him!"

Sounds like fangirls are the same both here and in the US. There should be a general health warning for these kind of things, the decibel level is simply out of this world!
Sorry for not commenting before today, been slaving over the project since I got home. Finished phase one yesterday and am now on a small break before the last part. We had to give the library we work for a catalog over our findings and they really seem to like it :) Now we only have the presentation in two weeks and the formal paper for school to go.. january can't come soon enough!

Oh yes, your description of the London fiasco sounded just like what happened when we went to the Prisoner of Azkaban premiere last year at Radio City Music Hall. Never, ever again!

Congrats on finishing the first part of your project! I will think good thoughts for you about the presentation too. You know you have a willing ear if -- when -- you need to complain or rejoice.
