bironic: Neil Perry gazing out a window at night (rodney exasperated with laser)

OMG, "Duet." My stomach hurts from laughing. Cadman and Carson teasing Rodney about his date with Katie Brown; Carson saying, "A date with a woman?" and Rodney beginning to reply to another question before stopping and saying, "Yes, with a woman." Rodney's ridiculous decorations in his quarters, that framed shot of himself holding his diploma, and the way he just falls face-first into bed with his arms at his sides and his neck at a horrible angle. John wanting to McKay to know he was the one who wanted to shoot down the Wraith dart, and asking if they're "cool"—hello, House/Wilson, "So…we're okay," one of them not quite wanting to admit how much the other's friendship means to him. Rodney in those white scrubs, twice. More lab mice. Charred lab mice. German and Czech. Rodney having a seizure and fainting passing out twice (told you, sucker for melodrama). John, dressed all in black with that studded belt, leaning on the male mannequin torso in the training room like some sort of S&M pose. Zelenka's hair out in the field. Rodney and Zelenka arguing again and again, with Zelenka putting a stop to it every time because he's concerned for Rodney. Ronon, totally focused warrior, eating Jell-O with his hands. When I first started watching reruns (mid-season two), I thought Ronon was a stupid character, but I've liked him in his first two episodes, when his deadpan delivery and taciturn…ity aren't just a schtick. I like how John and Teyla get along with him so well (and then some of the soldiers when he teaches them his moves) when nobody else gets him at all.

But of course, of course, mostly the hilarity that was Rodney-with-Cadman-in. Going to couples therapy. Cadman feeling him up. Rodney being completely embarrassed that Cadman saw him naked. Cadman performing maleness coming across as flaming. Kissing Katie. Kissing Carson. Cadman enacting her very own dream date. Did I mention the flaming body language and speech? I know Carson teased him about being gay, but really, you'd think someone would have thought Rodney acting like that was weird. Which just makes it funnier.

And, heh—flaming!Rodney was quite different from the sort of gay Rodney you see in (good) slash fanfic. There's a sizeable slash meta post lurking in that sentence, but now is not the time.

I mean, it was silly, and some of it probably ought to have been offensive, and a lot of it was predictable, but it was just so much fun, and why not enjoy that?

Though I do wish they'd explored the issue of giving up control a little more. McKay couldn't do it, Cadman didn't want to do it, but if they'd been left together in that body a little longer, maybe McKay would have found a kernel of bravery somewhere in him like he did in "Hide and Seek." They could at least have talked about it more. Same with Cadman's recurring argument that McKay could learn a thing or two about women from her; he didn't seem to be listening very well, and it would've been nice to see Rodney take away a lesson from all of this. Maybe I should watch the next episode before assuming he didn't.

Now someone please point me to all the kinky Cadman/Rodney-in-one-body and Cadman!Rodney/Katie Brown and Cadman!Rodney/Carson fic.

ETA: HA, and now during the commentary you've got the ... people ... discussing how palpable the sexual tension is between David Hewlett/Rodney and Paul McGillion/Carson.

Crossroads (http://sga.fictionresource.com/) is also a good SGA fic site to search; it specializes in slash.
