Sorry, folks, no review tonight. Story to finish.

Anyway, nothing I could’ve said would’ve been funnier than House & Wilson’s play tickets / “What, you thought this was a date?”/ “Why don’t you want to see it with me?” / “Figure there’s someone you want to see naked” conversation (Back to Cuddy already? Hello, Robin? Anyone?) or their “You slept with her.” / “Yes, I did.” / “Really?” / “No.” / “Yes, you did.” / “Yes, I did.” / “Really?” / “No.” lunchtime exchange in which it was clear that House still can’t always tell when Wilson is lying, or Wilson saying “see me naked” (guhhhh) and House saying “I sent him flowers” (oh, the audio manip possibilities of this episode), or the fact that Wilson is sympathy-limping with House again, or the whole scene in House’s office with the Wilson-headache (it’s canon now?) and House-glasses and Wilson looking so young again and Wilson’s crazy plan and House’s barely restrained laughter and Wilson's outrage and, and, mutual good-nights without Tritter angst, awww. Those bits, I will want to watch again. And again.

I'm just starting my TiVo'd episode right now, so I'm studiously avoiding all your minor spoilers. For now. But I am happily looking forward to enjoying the ep, now. :)

Soooo...? Glee, yes?

Oh, yes, GLEE indeed!

I loved House's repeated smackdowns of Cameron. I loved Chase. I loved Cuddy getting a glass door in the face.

I especially loved, during the "Seriously?" "No." discussion, that Wilson called House on his assumptions and made the point that House's assumptions aren't always right. A little bit of barb under the funny, and it was perfect.

And I don't know if I could love Wilson any more. I squee'd at him all ep. But being a lefty myself, I wondered why the director made him be all awkward during lunch--just put whatever you're working on on the LEFT side of your tray!

I'd be much obliged if they'd show us how House and Wilson got back to this after two weeks of not speaking to each other and several weeks before that of not being particularly friendly, but I'll still take it!

Yes. The continuity factor is exceedingly annoying. But I'm so happy to see H/W again that I'll forgive anything.

I loved this episode. Absolutely loved it.

What did I love most? House's all-concerned-not-wanting-to-appear-like-he's-being-concerned when Wilson appears to be in pain in House's office.

Yes, please, thank you VERY much!

Yes! Which he of course promptly undid by not stopping Wilson from waltzing into Cuddy's office and giving 'er a kiss.

Yes. Oh, yes. House himself was about eight years old at that point. He was practically giggling in anticipation of Wilson getting shot down.

But that tiny little scene -- when he thought, for just a moment, that Wilson was hurting ... this is one of the very few episodes I wish I'd taped, or that I had TiVo.

Wow. It was all there, in those incredibly expressive eyes, on that amazingly expressive face.

And I'm sure I'm reading too much into it, but it really was fantastic acting on HL's part.

I'm convinced all the facial muscle exercise he got in his comedy days is paying off big-time now. Wow. Wow on a regular basis. Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning wow.

USA network should re-run tonight's ep next Friday or Saturday night, if you want to catch it again and/or tape it then, barring other means of acquiring it.

I was just complaining with my friend at the beginning how Wilson looked so tired and old, but I think this episode saw a bit of the S1 Wilson we loved and adored, with his boyish pranks and so forth. Of course, House was doing most of the pranking. But still. The flowers and matchmaking were totally a bit of "House" apology ^_^ this goes on my list of H/W OTP episodes, hee hee.

By the way, what was the Wilson-headache fanon? Was that in a fic that you wrote?

Not one of mine, no, but there've been stories all over the place -- though not so much lately -- where Wilson has a migraine or a tension headache, and House/Chase/fill-in-the-blank makes it all better. Or, you know, it turns out that Wilson's got brain cancer. It was discussed once... somewhere... at one of the communities, and the best guess as to its origin (outside of basic hurt/comfort tenets) was that Wilson's always pinching the bridge of his nose when House annoys him.

RSL did look young when he started getting all animated, but it wasn't just the energy, it was the makeup, or the haircut, or the eyebrow grooming, or the lighting, or something, especially in the hiding-from-Cuddy and House's-office scenes. Whee, pretty!

Ah, I see what you're getting at. I always figure it's just a habit of his...like rubbing at the back of his neck. Well, Wilson certainly has a lot to have a headache over given this past season.

Hehehe. You know, my theory about House and Wilson reading each other is this. House is good at observing little details and drawing an accurate conclusion from him. But when it comes to purely reading facial expressions, Wilson is much better at both keeping up a facade and figuring out what the other thinks. Different ways of approaching social manipulation. They really can take over the world together.

Naturally, you hit all the points I loved most. The absolutely deadpan "no you didn't/yes I did" stuff that so clearly defines their deep, enduring friendship and points out why they've been friends so long.

I also like that House was not-so-much "pointless bastard House" but just plain ol' grumpy House, teasing his Fellows and tormenting Wilson. I love that Wilson didn't fall for it for a second (unless Cuddy ratted out House) but (regardless) played it like he had no idea.

I also like the looks they were exchanging. "What? You think this is a date"? And the almost hopeful looks they both had of "Maybe?" And House looking a bit stricken at the idea that Wilson might actually go after Cuddy. It's good because it could go either way -- House is interested in Cuddy, or House doesn't want to share Wilson with anyone.

It's the second, obviously. And Wilson doesn't really want to spend time with anyone other than House, which is why he was snarky that House didn't make a move to stop him.

I also like that depending on whether you've got your slash glasses on or not (I'll spare you the graphic this time), House's look after Wilson left the office could have been contained glee that Wilson was about to get decked, or a little bit sickish at the idea Wilson might leave him for Cuddy.

Yes yes! Fun with ambiguity! With Wilson clearly disappointed House didn't mean to go to the play with him, and the suggestion that maybe Wilson wanted to see House naked, and House's actions being equally possessive and jealous.

This episode almost makes up for things. NEXT week, however (I know you don't like spoilers, but this doesn't give anything about the plot) is a Doris Egan episode.

Hahahaha. House's face during that last scene killed me. And I love how Wilson can still fool House, even in the middle of House trying to punk him! :)

Thank you, now I have an imaginary icon with House's taken-aback expression when Wilson reveals he knew Cuddy didn't send the flowers and in the corner it says "PUNK'D" or maybe "OUT-PUNK'D."

House seems to forget that Wilson always manages a way more intense prank to get back at him. It's like House thinks he's the one in control, except he is so totally not. ;)

I CAN'T STOP FLAILING.

I CAN'T STOP GIGGLING ABOUT THE "YOU COULD BE STRAIGHT WITH HER" - "I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT" EXCHANGE.

AND, APPARENTLY, I CAN'T TYPE ABOUT THIS WITHOUT USING CAPS.

SEND naked Wilson HELP.

Hey, it was amused scowling :P

The 'straight' line also won the evening for me. Also the flailing (RSL's, not mine).

Also, comedy gold?

Hugh co-directs every show we do," Leonard says. "It's not an exaggeration. He really does say, 'Are you cutting from that shot to this shot? Because if so, that would be awkward.' Are you kidding me? I'm thinking about what I'm having for lunch."

*facepalm* Maybe you should be thinking less about food and more about Wilson doing it with House, there, Bobsters.

Running from a woman and hiding and ducking and making frantic "no" gestures = hilarity.

And brown striped tie for the win! *prepares to be beaten* (Can we compromise on 'beige pants not for the win'?)

Done! XD

ROFL - I was amused at the quote, but hadn't actually connected 'thinking about lunch' with Pudgy there. Although I haven't noticed at all the last few eps, to be honest.

House should SO have gone to seen the play with him. I was squeeing at the thought until he was such a big killjoy. Especially if it was something *ahem* relevant.

Did I say last week's ep was my favorite of the season? Pfffft. I'm in love again. I actually saved the damn thing so I can watch it again. Wilson reclaimed my heart again, and that damned Chase is trying to tug it away from him. And it was fun again. And just felt good again. And it makes me want to excise the first half of the season from canon and pretend it never happened, because I don't want to know la la la la la.

Because this was why I fell in love with this show in the first place.

I couldn't have taken all of this any earlier, I suppose, but I know I won't be buying this season on DVD because I never want to see those godforsaken earlier episodes ever again. But this one. Did I mention this one I like? Because I did. And do. and love.

Wilson did look young again! I was so happy wit him and for him in this episode. The Friends title for this episode would be "The One Where Wilson Totally Rules", because he does.
