Hello all! Asheville is lovely, all mountainous and quaint and diverse, and it has [livejournal.com profile] synn and live bluegrass on the streets and occasional thunderstorms with rolling, echoing thunder.

My computer refuses to connect to the wireless in my hotel so I'm borrowing [livejournal.com profile] synn's to wave to everyone and to thank the incredibly generous anonymous person who sprang for 6 months' paid time! Thank you, whoever you are! If you are comfortable revealing yourself, I would be happy to show my appreciation with a story or an icon or what-have-you.

And now we're off for a day outdoors, to be finished off with HP release party and a reading marathon. See you on the other side!

Asheville's one of my favorite places. If you get a chance, don't pass up seeing the Biltmore House. Us common folk get very few chances to see how true American royalty used to live, so it really is worth the money and the time. And the Biltmore Village has all kinds of lovely shops housed in what were the cottages where the folks who built the Biltmore estate lived.

Thanks for dropping in - we did go to the Biltmore Estate on Monday, and toured the house and gardens before a late-afternoon storm struck. We live near one of Vanderbilt's homes here on Long Island, but I didn't realize just how magnificent Biltmore would be.

My first year of college was at a school not far from Asheville. I was in the chorus at my university and we did a concert with the Asheville Symphony.

It is certainly beautiful country. Have fun!

Thanks - it was certainly very pretty, and a relaxing week. Just got home a few hours ago, and it's back to work tomorrow, unfortunately.

That would be me. No return is expected—being able to continue to enjoy your elegantly designed journal is thanks enough.

Ah HA! I suspected you, but last time you weren't anonymous, so I wondered.

Now, though you may decline a prompt, I have double the incentive to write the idea I had in December the first time you were kind enough to be my patron.
