One step in the translation of you to me
Sep. 21st, 2008 08:36 pmI find myself mysteriously with nothing to say. That will surely change soon, but as long as I'm putting off writing my first research paper of the semester, here's a snapshot for that "photograph yourself right now" meme that's going around. Uh, warning for a close-up picture of an eye?
This was taken yesterday afternoon, sans glasses.

(Identification concerns aside, this is the only part of me I think of as conventionally pretty. Talk about constructing one's self online; you get to choose your best feature to show to people.)
Now I will use my eyes to read these articles and get workin'. Honest.

And sort of reminds me of Vermeer's The Girl With The Pearl Earring for some reason -- I think it's the calmness of your expression.

There must be a name for it. Sadly, I am too lazy to go look it up right now. Do you think it's creepy? Someone -- either my boyfriend at the time or my sister, and I'm not even thinking about what it means that I can't remember which -- once said it was like an eclipse, and ever since then I've been proud of them. :)

Date: Sep. 22nd, 2008 01:51 am (UTC)I think it might be what's sometimes referred to as hazel eyes - I think 'hazel eyes' have a lot of different meanings, not just the golden-brown I've always imagined them as.

Date: Sep. 22nd, 2008 01:15 pm (UTC)They look indigo to me. My eyes do that same blue/green thing, and I think it's because when you wear green, it brings out the yellow of that inner ring, and our eyes tend to mix colors so.. yellow and blue make green.
