31 Days, 31 Memories - Day 15
Jan. 14th, 2006 11:07 pm*Sniff* Thus ends the evening marathon and there is no more Samurai Champloo. Oh Jin and pals, you will live on in re-runs.
But hey, halfway point! You know you want to join in.
15. Elementary School
My friend A.'s family was preparing for her first communion. In the foyer of their house, in front of the stairs and beside the door to the kitchen, I said something about how they were Christian. "Catholic," her mother snapped in correction (or at least it seemed snappy at the time). She had also once chastised me, not very kindly, for mispronouncing the word "christening" as "Christian-ing"; I'd only ever read it before, never heard it. Other than those few occasions, though, I remember her being very nice.

Date: Jan. 15th, 2006 05:49 pm (UTC)I used to be a Christian. I wasn't brought up that way, my family are atheists, but somehow I just knew that God existed.
That changed when the time came for my confirmation. The priest whose classes I attended then (of my own free will, my parents actually tried to discourage me) was such a horrible person and his God so far from mine that I lost my faith during that year. I still did the confirmation, but faith was never the same again.
I regained again later, only to lose it once more. Now I consider myself agnostic with tendencies towards the existence of something divine.
