There has been some tux-squeeage in the fandom this week following "All In"; therefore I am now procrastinating on four important tasks by hard-coding a table full of RSL photos for you so we can discuss what we find sexy in men's formal wear, if by "men" we mean "Wilson" and by "formal wear" we mean "suits as seen in two episodes." *wistful sigh* It's like the old days of putting off schoolwork and thinking about Buffy or, more recently, HP fanfic.

I realize I've been doing quite a few posts on House of late. There are many reasons behind it which I will spare you. Suffice it to say that it's been years since I was this into a show or book or what-have-you, and I am just so thrilled to love something again that I'm going to let myself revel in it. To those of you who don't watch (or watch by proxy), and I know that's about half of you, all I can say is I hope you like the House-related posts anyway and I promise there will still be plenty of other stuff to talk about.

So -- one for everybody, with pictures!

Option One: Dark Suit and Sweater Vest.Option One, Oblique.
Despite how it may look, Wilson is not about to attend a funeral. View in better light, also called "Yep, he's definitely the guy from Dead Poets Society."
Option Two: Tux, Neat.Option Three: Tux Minus Jacket Plus Suspenders.
At the start of the evening. Halfway there.
Option Four: Tux Undone.Option Five: Forget Wilson, I'll take House any day.
The bag over his shoulder helps too. Gratuitous photo to fill the extra space.
P.S. Why does Chase always look 15 years old in screencaps?

Credit to [livejournal.com profile] stelladives in [livejournal.com profile] house_md for the caps, or at least the "All In" ones, since I can't remember anymore where the "Safe" ones came from.

I'm torn between #1 and #4, leaning towards #1 because (a) so pretty and (b) House does the Rumpled End-of-night Look better (see above).

You?

I'm always one for fully-dressed men with or without small amounts of skin showing. Sleeves rolled to the elbow is a weak spot. (See also, many moons ago, Jeff Goldblum in Independence Day.)

Do you remember which episode that was with the scrubs? I remember seeing him in surgical garb too -- though I'm thinking it was up in the observation room during a surgery, maybe in a different scene? -- and noticing how lovely it was. There is something wonderful about seeing a character wear anything out of the ordinary for them, even if the outfit itself isn't sexy traditionally or out of context.

P.S. I didn't mean to imply that these two are my favorite all-time Wilson getups, just that a lot of people seem to have gone crazy over the tuxes, and I thought that even the ordinary sweater-vest he wore last week was more attractive. Hooray for having such a pretty cast!

Yes, I saw a lot of people go crazy in *anticipation* of the tuxes. They were lovely, but almost more because of those moments where they were disheveled in rumpled tuxes. *g* I myself am almost more taken with men in sharp suits, for some reason, than tuxes.

I really couldn't tell you which ep it was, with the scrubs. It was one where Wilson got pulled in by House for a consult, but I don't remember if it was Detox--

*pause as she pages down to your next comment*

YES. THAT'S IT. Okay, I can tell you it's Detox, you win! It wasn't just the bared forearms, but the THROAT omg!!! That line of his throat, down to his chest, the *informality* of the surgical scrubs, compared to his normal buttoned-up with tie formality. Wow. (and yes, I loved rolled-up sleeves, with how they put emphasis on forearms. mmmm.)

Thank you for giving me a moment, there. *g*

Ha, you're welcome. I came across another shot during the week of Wilson slumped in a hallway chair in those scrubs, but of course I don't remember where it was or else I'd post it here for you. He hardly looks like himself in that photo below; I thought at first it was Sebastian Charles, but he was never in scrubs, only a gown.

Anyway, yes, informality, throat, mm. (Did you also like the scene where he's getting ready in House's apartment and hasn't finished buttoning his shirt or tying his tie?) I don't know if I'm more taken with the many-layered suits wrapping him up and insulating him from the world or with the loose scrubs that scream 'One thin bit of fabric, nothing under here but chest!'
