I am -- was -- okay, am still having a grumpy day and a stressful week, but there is this not-really-spoilery promo shot for the next House episode:

from http://community.livejournal.com/house_daily/231691.html

All I have to say is: (1) OMG cute, and (2) I can't believe I called this of all things.

Now bring on the mistletoe.

Good heavens! Is it the camera angle, or is Wilson *that thin*? Also, I don't think he is a hat person ;-)

That is the fakest-looking snow *ever*, LOL.

Ooh, he does look thin. And airbrushed. And that snow is way too dry and gritty. Of course, I noticed none of these things until you mentioned them, as I was too focused on the suggestively floppy hat and House's smile.

I find the hat so alarming I find myself gazing at his torso.

Actually I do that even when he is not wearing a hat.

House's smile seems very Lauriesque :D

Does it? I dunno, I just like that House is smiling, and that the smile is directed at and caused by Wilson.

I would prefer if the hat were a headband, but I will take this nevertheless.

Ditto on torso-gazing. :D

What a great smile on House.

I don't know about New Jersey, but in Maryland we do often get snow that's really dry. It can pile up a few inches and still be swept away with a broom. It's more like cold dust than snow.

So it's fake snow, but.... possibly... maybe.... acceptable if you kinda squint. And not think about it too much.

From: [identity profile] bironic.livejournal.com
Heh. No, you're right, we get weird snow like that sometimes that makes me think of popcorn or styrofoam, little dry bouncy clumpy balls. But it's weird enough in reality, and even harder to believe on screen. If that's the kind of snow they were going for, though, then well done.

House's smile is wonderful. It's rare enough as it is, and even better to see when it's Wilson-elicited and -directed. Goes on the list with the MRI "This is God" and the infamous Chinese dinner and the post-broken-cane grin, etc.

Oh my holy God. Oh, Wilson.

And House (well, or HL) looks like he's about to lose it and burst out laughing.

Definitely. It looks like a magazine ad, esp. Wilson's face.

Yay antlery Wilson on screen!!

From: [identity profile] elynittria.livejournal.com
OMG! One can only hope that the rest of your ficlet is reenacted on screen as well. :D

I think RSL has in fact lost weight since last season and his thinness here isn't totally due to airbrushing. My theory is still that the extra weight was a side effect of medication that he may have been taking during that time.

Hohhhh, yes. That would be a thing of beauty.

It's hard to tell whether he's lost weight when his face and body seem to change depending on the episode, outfit and camera angle, but I guess we will know better in January if this photo is accurate. Which I hope it is. Poor guy has nothing better to do in his five days off each week than sit in his apartment and eat. Maybe the writer's strike will be good for him as he walks around NYC and burns some calories. :)

And see the little strings off the antlers, and the loop of string in his hand? THOSE ARE MOVABLE ANTLERS ON HIS HAT. BY PULLING ON THE STRING HE CAN MAKE THEM GO UP AND DOWN.

I'm a little distracted by the return of House's season one red shirt. And he has on grown-up people shoes instead of gaudy sneakers.

ext_2047: (Default)
From: [identity profile] bironic.livejournal.com
Ah, that's what looked off about his feet! His pants are too long for those shoes, too, I think. And is it not a strangely tailored coat? (I was watching Project Runway last night; I couldn't help noticing.)

Date: Dec. 20th, 2007 10:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] pwcorgigirl.livejournal.com
House appears to be wearing Hugh Laurie's clothes, except for the red shirt. It almost looks like they called Hugh in on his day off and said, "Quick! Pose!"

The collar may be sort of turned up on the coat, at least on one side, but it does sit on his shoulders like it's not fully pulled on.

From: [identity profile] perspi.livejournal.com
Also? The way HL is standing, he's not House. It's very possible this is a candid shot between takes or something...

Date: Dec. 20th, 2007 10:16 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] pwcorgigirl.livejournal.com
That is a very HL smile, too. You can about count the number of times House has had an open-mouth smile on one hand.

It may be like that supposed promo photo of Cuddy and House at the piano in "All In" that got everyone all worked up and then turned out to have been posed. I'll be very disappointed if it is, because it's such a cute photo.

ext_2047: (Default)
From: [identity profile] bironic.livejournal.com
I think you're right about it being a posed photo for promo purposes only. Still -- it is a thing of beauty, like the pre-season 4 photo of them smiling and kicking back in Wilson's office. I hope the antlers show up in the ep in some capacity, although if they don't, we'll still always have Paris this photo.

Actually, I think the "red shirt" is a scarf. I think he's wearing the same clothes as in this cast photo: http://i1.tinypic.com/8abhjkk.jpg. (RSL definitely has the same tie on in both photos.)

Heh - I made it my background (House for holidays, yay!) and it automatically stretched - they looked like munchkins. Though RSL's face looked more realistic that way...

Ha! I made it my desktop at work too (my home laptop won't take any background images -- long story). It centered properly, though, so no Munchkin effect.

I know, this is the most adorable picture!

Although, for a moment there I am wondering if it's a wax figure of Wilson, and that's why House finds it so funny, because it will freak Wilson right the hell out to have a cheerful mannequin of himself in his balcony window.

House had a grateful patient who worked at Madame Tussaud's, and House took advantage? Then dressed it up with clothes he stole from Wilson's locker, a coffee cup for verisimilitude, and an antler hat from his closet, and parked it out front for all and sundry to snicker over? Yes.

Date: Dec. 20th, 2007 10:22 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] perspi.livejournal.com
House wouldn't go that far for a prank, would he?

...

Oh, he totally would. That would explain why Wilson looks a little different to us, too--The sculptor was working from whatever photos House had.

It explains everything -- even the svelte figure. House's ideal Wilson -- trim, dorky and playful.

That very sincerity is leading to speculation that the photo is not a snapshot of an actual scene in the upcoming episode but rather a promo outtake to please the fans, like a few others that have gone before (see one or another of the threads above). But who cares? It's awesome. Whether you're of the platonic or romantic persuasion, their affection for each other is once again clear here. With ANTLERS.

Which reminds me -- *digs fuzzy antler headband out of dresser drawer to wear to work tomorrow*

A perfect end to a very holiday filled and hectic day - THAT PICTURE!

Though yes, it does look very behind-the-scenes-ish to me. Like that photo you my other LJ friend Marina (ikilledkenny86, she posts her thoughts on House and a few other shows weekly, as well as good links like that) posted a link to a while ago, of HL, JM, JS and OE. There was I do believe a x-mas tree in the background there...found the link after realizing it was not you who had posted it:

http://i1.tinypic.com/8abhjkk.jpg (and look who is in it that I just happened to forget :) )

Though I could be wrong, because look, no red shirt on HL/House..
